The 40 mm Bouncing Air Burst Grenade ARFG-25 AB provides effective action against enemy troops in open terrain or in light shelters at distance of up to 400 m.
At meeting the target the fuze initiates the ejecting charge and the grenade bounces upwards. The grenade bursts at height from 0,5m to 1,5m. The air-burst of the grenade provides more effective distribution of the splinters and increases their efficiency over 2 times compared to normal VOG-25 grenade.

The ammunition is designed for use with the following grenade launchers:
- GP-25 and GP-30 under-barrel grenade launchers mounted on AK-47 and AK-74 assault rifles
- GP-95 under-barrel grenade launcher mounted on 9A-91 compact assault rifle
- RG-6 and “ AVALANCHE †revolver grenade launchers
